IQ Tereengganu : Clossed For One Week

After a very long silent, my first posting is not what I want to write about. Just a very short announcement, IQ Terengganu, the place where I spent 8 hours daily was closed for a week according to H1N1. Nobody here get H1N1, but many students got ILI, meaning symptoms like H1N1, and The Department of Health ask us to close our campus for a whole week.
With 62 death so far, Malaysia now among the critical country. I think many people do not exactly what is the H1N1. I hear everywhere people talk without the fact. Here is the official site from WHO and MOH.
Just hope this crazy pandemic will go forever soon. With the economic crisis, H1N1 make 2009 the year to remember in the history.

Didn't sleep for two nights (Part 2)

As I promised, I will tell you why I didn't sleep on Saturday's night. My family and I went to my wife's parent on Saturday. We returned to our home sweet home at 10 pm. Then I started to up load the auto responder etc tools to my new making money on line site. This time I used FileZilla and everything went so smooth.

Then here come the big challenge. I had to make a video presentation for my Institute after that. Usually I only spent two hours to make a 10 minutes video, but this time was different. The video is about our new student's programme in their first week in IQ Terengganu. My first problem was to edit 'terrible' video taken by my students. They like to take the video when they were walking and they like to play with the zoom. It was very hard to me to chose the right part to take from the video. From 40 minutes video, I only can take about 4 minutes. This is a hard work...

Then I used my ULEAD VIDEO STUDIO 8.0 (The latest one is 11.0) for the first time with my new laptop. Here come the biggest problem. I can install the program and use without any problem but when I want to make the final touch -sharing as a VCD file-, it did not work at all. I tried to reinstall and did the same thing again -in the previous time this will resolve the problem-, but no, it not working at all. I don't know the reason. My old laptop using Windows XP, and this one using Vista, but I don't think this is the reason. I tried again and again until I hear the Fajr azan. Oh my God. I didn't sleep again. For the second night.

Fortunately, one of my co-worker friends, Hakim made his own video for the ceremony. So everything was running like the schedule yesterday, on our ceremony to celebrate our new students. Thanks to Mr Hakim, and others too who work very hard for this.

The story about our new student -THE 21 Gen- soon IN SYA ALLAH.

Kuliah al-Furqan 2009

Kuliah al-Furqan is IQ Terengganu social service program to the community. The long history of Kuliah al-Furqan started in the middle of nineteen using the name Kelas Semasa. I was involved in this program since 2003. In 2005 Kelas Semasa became Kelas Pengajian al-Quran Hujung Minggu, and for this year it change again to Kuliah al-Furqan. The biggest changing in the program is starting from this year we open the registration yearly, and add the classes and the students.

Kuliah al-Furqan offers six major class, Asas al-Quran for those who still cannot recite al-Quran, Ulum al-Quran for those who can read al-Quran and want to improve their ability, Al-Qiraat for the expert, Arabic Language, Tafsir and the latest is Tahfiz al-Quran.

Now we are handling the registration for the first intake, which include more than 850 students. The second intake will take place after two week, which include about 250 students. We receive more than 1600 apply forms when we open it last month.

Maahad Tahfiz Darul Ulum Basriah

Today we have visitors from Maahad Tahfiz Darul Ulum Basriah, Beserah, Pahang. They reached at IQ Terengganu about 10 a.m. As usual I was among the lectures who involved in the program. One of their teachers was my ex-student, now an 'ustaz' there, Ustaz Sanusi Nordin. His wife also my ex student, Siti Nor Faiza, who was my wife's classmate.

I'm very happy seeing Sanusi and his students, reminding me my early day at Maahad Tahfiz al-Quran Negeri Terengganu in 1998. He came with 40 of his students, who also memorizing al-Quran, like what we do here in IQ Terengganu.

They spend about an hour here, before visiting Terengganu Trade Center, Terengganu Museum, Islamic Civilization Theme Park (Taman Tamadun Islam) and other places. Hope they enjoy their time here in Terengganu.

Sheikh Abdul Hamid Mursi

This is one of my best friend, Mr Abdul Hamid Mursi (left). He from Egypt and was invited by our goverment, Terengganu to be a teacher in the IQ Terengganu. He came to Malaysia early 2006 and did his job very well. He is a specialist in Arabic teaching and I learned a lot from him. He also have a good voice and this make him a good 'Qari' (al-Quran reciter).

My friend spend three amazing years in our country and had to leave Malaysia on 5 November, 18 days ago. What make me feel unhappy is I couldn't go to the airport at that day because of the busy scheduale, and I feel guilty for that. Anyway I hope Mr Abdul Hamid will have a good days with his family in egypt.

The onother person in the picture (right) is Mr Abdullah. He is from Egypt too. He still with us here in IQ Terengganu and still have another two years with us as he arrived early this year.

Exam in IQ Terengganu

This week is the last week for the Third Semester in IQ Terengganu (Syahadah's students). Next week our students will go through the exam. The students from the Fourth Year (Final Year) will have The Last Exam (Syahadah Exam), the students from the Second Year is still in SPM Exam, and the students from First Year and Third Year will have a semester Exam. So next week is Exam week.

The students from SPM intake (Diploma's students) are still have another 10 weeks before their exam in early February. They will have the break on 5 December for a week, then have to come back to finish their studies.

As a teacher all I need is the best for all of my students, especially for the students from the Final Year. Hope they do their best for their own future...

FAST UP-DATE

As I wrote last Thursday, this week is the most busiest week in my life for this year. I don't have much time to write here. I have to finish a documentary video for IQ Terengganu. We will have a Graduate Ceremony on 30 August, just 10 day away...

Anyway I still 'steel' my golden time on-line. The 'must do' list daily is dropping by about 50-70 sites at EC, surfing about 50 sites at BE, at just on last Sunday I start to took action in MyLot.

I hope that everything going fine in this week till 30 August, and my documentary will be the best one ever...
